During 2016 research and field visits were undertaken to compile an in depth field guide to this classic area of Geology. The hydrocarbon potential of the Larne and Rathlin basins are discussed in the context of Atlantic Margin exploration potential.

In September 2017 Ray led the NFES on this 4 day trip around Antrim. The trip was well received and Ray received an honorary membership to the society for this and other outstanding contributions to NFES over the years. We have offered to run the trip for the PESGB but this is unlikely to occur until 2019 due to the full programme the PESGB has to manage.
